We love an easy weekend escape and to feature local places that can make it easier to plan that perfect three days away. Couple getaways are necessary and important but so is a little family time away together sometimes too. It is great to have a spot that has a nice balance of both kid friendly activities and adult time when looking for that perfect family getaway spot. Only a little over an hour from Boston, the Cape Codder Resort & Spa in Hyannis is an easy, unique and perfect destination for a weekend family getaway.
This property has all a family needs for fun and bonding for the weekend for kids as well as adults right under one roof. There are over 244 guest rooms of all styles to fit your family’s needs, 4 restaurants, a full service spa, a large game/arcade room, a seasonal out door pool and a large indoor water park open year round!
During our recent stay at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa, we found the perfect recipe for a fun family weekend date! Check out the details below!
Staying at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa is so easy and convenient. There are so many options of room styles available from standard guest rooms, rooms with fun views (including rooms that have a view of the expansive indoor water park!), to family suites and more!
The Indoor Cape Codder Water Park
This 30,000 square foot indoor water park (with a retractable roof!) is amazing fun for both the kids and the kids at heart. There are 4 slides, a lazy river, wave pool, splash/play area, large hot tub, cafe and more.
The Beach Plum Spa
There is also a full service spa within the resort for some much needed adult “me time”. There are several day spa packages offered as well as massages, body treatments, mani/pedi, facials and more!
The resort also has a large game room with arcades and prizes, outdoor seasonal pool, bonfire, and seasonal programs such as outdoor movie offerings and more.
For shopping and souvenirs, there is a cute little gift shop with special curated cape cod/nautical themed gifts.
There are 4 restaurants at the Cape Codder Resort including the Hearth ‘n Kettle Restaurant and Tavern, Grand Cru Wine Bar & Grill, Gazebo Cafe (located in water park), and the seasonal dining experience on The Deck. From family friendly fare to cocktails and live jazz nights these restaurants have you covered for all your dining needs over the course of your weekend. We enjoyed breakfast at the Hearth ‘n Kettle Restaurant (somewhat of a cape cod institution so a meal here is definitely necessary while visiting) with their hearty and extensive menu choices. We also loved the food, wine, and cocktails at the Grand Cru Wine Bar (which also offers live jazz music at least twice a week).
While in Hyannis also Try:
• Exploring Downtown Hyannis and shopping on Main Street
• Beaches (including nearby Craigville Beach)
• checking out the Kennedy Museum
